Exhibition

So!
I've actually been busy.
We had a staff exhibition at work which basically involved a few people running around like headless chickens for a while and trying to get a lot of things done in one week. But it was definitely a success and worth all the effort! Plus a wonderful excuse for us all to get together!
Here's the things that I put in and some pictures and that:

Here's an image from the Toby book! (its been a while)

I'm actually really really happy with how this turned out! There's not text on this yet, but its certainly getting there!
Here's a sketch for pages 18-19.

Hidden Heroes:
Compositionally and colour wise I don't think these four images really work, but if I'm honest, I really enjoyed making them and it was worth it for the painting practice!

To explain these are relating to some writing my friend did for an exhibition called Hidden Heroes. Basically the exhibition is about paperclips, lightbulbs, bubble wrap and velcro, but Paul decided it would be more interesting if it was about superheroes playing hide and seek... and so:

Superman can bloody fly,
Which helps him on his quest,
But when it comes to hide 'n' seek,
X-ray vision is the best.

Them heroes they be hidin'
Cheeky bunch of gits
Them heroes they be hidin'
What cocky shits

The Flash doesn't do hiding,
Standing still he doesn't find fun,
so when the heroes make him play,
He always tries to run.

I can't see any heroes,
It's starting to annoy me
I can't see any heroes
Maybe they're having tea

Batman hiding in his cave,
Robin looking lost,
Joker cannot find this man
Won't stop at any cost.

Where are all the heroes?
Maybe in that tin?
Where are all the heroes?
I've already checked the bin

The Thing is bright orange,
And the size of a small car.
To drag was his first plan,
But he couldn't wear a bra.

All heroes are gone hiddin'
There's evil being done!
All heroes are gone hiddin'
Please can you call someone.

Ninja Santa:
Some sketches and that for ninja santa. Also the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny!

There are a few more things that I've got up to recently, but I'll upload it after the weekend sometime.
Yaaaaay

Ooo, only two months this time!

Hey all!

Here's some things that I have been doing.
Its all photoshop coloured at the moment, but I'm hoping that I'm going to have a bit more free time so I can actually start to colour things in properly soon! Yay!

This is Pan the goat man. He was a tiny sketch in one of my books, but I really liked him so I made him into a card for my friend.

This is a comic I'm going to make at some point that outlines the pros and cons of having Brian Blessed following you around narrating everything that you do.

Some little sketches (obviously I have a lot more of these but these are the only two I'd bothered to scan in lol)

This is a picture I made for the theme of nautical. I really want to paint this one properly soon! Watch this space.

These last two were some drawings I did for an idea of a redesign of beauty and the beast.
I'm not going to do anything with them, but I liked them none the less.

So that's that ^_^
Ciao for now.

Here we go!

So....
I've not uploaded anything in over six month
s now and that always makes me feel awkward. I seem to keep starting projects and not finishing them at the moment, my most current being 'Ninja Santa' and 'Hidden Heroes'. Hidden Heroes is no where near ready to come out of the sketchbook just yet, but here's some things that I've been doing over the last six months:

This is Ninja Santa.
He knows when you are sleeping, and he knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness sake. (That song takes on a whole new meaning when you add a ninja).
I keep being lazy and colouring on the computer, but I bought myself some liquid acrylics, so I am going to start painting again hopefully.

Try not to judge me too much on the type for this one. I would
change it to try and seem like I'm more awesome with my typography decisions,
but I cba and it was only a small drinks poster. Get over it. Move on.

I've also been making Vodkins and Rumbalina Comics! Yay!

This was originally in colour, but I don't know if I liked it.
Not sure about this one anymore.
Anyway, this is about binge
drinking students, based on some good friends of mine, you know who you are ;D

Heres the draft for the next comic I'm still in the process of making. Apparently this story is true... which is worrying.

Oh and here's a Doctor Who card I made for my friend Hayley. If I'm honest, not 100% sure on this one, but everyone else seemed to love it, so here you go:

And Finally, here's an elephant I drew for someone's birthday card.
Sadly at the time I had a massive tantrum about it and they never got it. At least I'll be prepared for next year.

Peace!

last one now

Right, so I've been trying to redo my old Toby book because basically I hate the original drawings I did, however, progress has been slow. Still I have finally managed to almost nearly very re-complete the first page! woooo!

There's still things I need to do (I only scribbled the text on as an example) but generally that's more or less how I imagined it.

Also I started the sketches for page two:
(The picture is only going to have his legs in, hence the lack of face)

So There!

back log

Here! Have some doodles:

Oh yeah and here's a little boy who will be running towards a roundabout:

bye bye now

Baths with bin bags

Hello

So...
I broke my wrist a few months ago which was quite rubbish and I had to draw with my left hand.
Here's a left handed comic I made about the incident:

Next time, if a drunk Australian lady tells me to do something, I'm gonna bloody do it.

Also, despite my ridiculous predicament I went to life drawing a few days later and here's some of my drawings (NB, I only have an A4 scanner so these have been cropped slightly since I cannot be bothered to mess around trying to piece them all together):

This was done with my broken wrist hand though it made my hand really tired in the end,

This was my first left hand attempt and I have to say I felt pretty good about it!

and another left handed drawing.

So to recap:
a) Roller-disco is fun, but for god's sake man where the bloody wrist guards
b) drunk people do sometimes speak sense
c) left hand drawing is so bloody frustrating but hillarious

ciao

here, have some crap =)

So.... guess i should update =/
Here's just some stuff that Im not that proud of but what the hell:
(ok im proud of this one a bit) I'm remaking the illustrations for my Toby book, even though I never finished illustrating it in the first place, but whatever. I just need to finish trying to paint the grass and I would have finished the whole scene.

this is a comic I'm gonna make one day just based on loads of stories I've heard from various friends, but I made this sketch for my friend's birthday card.
comic/card coloured on photoshop.
I've been trying to have some fun with colouring on photoshop, but I mostly only used it here because it's ridiculously quicker than watercolour.
quick thing for my friend's engagement card

Photoshop experiment, just a (very small/) quick sketch scanned and coloured.
